Parent Rep

We aim to provide opportunities for parent carers to influence the decisions that affect their families
and to contribute to developing services that meet the needs of their families. The Forum is led and
run by parent carers.

What can we offer you?

You will be part of a passionate team working to
make improvements for children and young
people aged 0-25 years with special educational
needs and disabilities.

We can offer you a range of training and
opportunites to learn new skills.

We will cover travel and child care expenses.

What will I need to do?

Represent the wider parent voice, not personal
experience.

Develop positive and constructive working
relationships (with other parents and
professionals) to find solutions to improve
support and services.

Support the aims of Families in Partnership and
help to ensure they are achieved.

What we are looking for

A parent carer with the passion to improve
outcomes for children, young people and their
families.

Experience of being a parent carer of a child or
young person with Special Educational Needs
and/or Disabilities who uses services in
Southampton.
